Karla Caves Lonavala

!! Ekveera Devi Prashana !!

Karla Caves & Ekveera Devi temple are at a one place on hill side near Lonavala at Karli Village. It is about 60 km from pune & just before 5km from Lonavala, at right hand side there is a big board/ kaman Showing Ekveera Devi temple road direction. After reaching the place yoy have two options 1. You can park your vehicle at the bottom of the hill or 2. you can drive upto mid level of the hill. Best option is to walk from bottom. There are about 500 step to reach the karla caves from middle parking position & it takes 20-30 minutes to reach on the top.

These caves are the oldest caves & made in 160 BC. The main feature of the caves is prayer hall shown in photo no. 1 which is major cut from rock & sized 45m long & 14m in hight. It is call Buddhist temple or chaityas cut from major rock. It is Indians largest Chaitya. Entrance fee is Rs. 5/ for indians & Rs. 100 /- for foreigner. The caves are open from 9 am to 5:30 pm.

Karla caves near pune & mumbai is the perfect place for family outing for one or two days because below are some places where you can visit.

Also there is a MTDC resort just at opposite road of the Karla caves, which is the coolest, peaceful place to stay. Recently MTDC lauched new water park at Karla where you can enjoy with your family & friends. You can visit very very famous Atmasantulana Village of the Dr. Balaji Tambe close to MTDC resort for Ayurvedic medicines/ checkup etc.

Jadhav Wadi Dam - Talegaon

Greetings... Jadhav wadi dam is situated after crossing the Navlakh Umbre hill station? Actually there is nothing to see there near dam, but it is useful for those who need " Ekant", cool, calm place  & enjoy with group of  friends means party. The road up to the dam from main road is rough. As I was on 2 wheeler , I managed to go upto the destination, for car its difficult. But anyway it is a short cut to Talegaon from Bhama askhed.
