Lakewoods Retreat is an environment park located on the banks of the Khadakvasla lake just after a small village Kudje. The 5 acre campus projects into the lake like a ship, with the waters surrounding the campus on all three sides giving a panoramic view of the 20 kms long lake. The Sinhagarh fort which was the strong hold of Shivaji is visible across the lake.

At Lakewoods, vistors can discover the beauty of nature, the magic of the environment and the symbiotic eco-system existing in perfect harmony. The Khadakvasla lake which was created in 1869 is host to large number of exotic migratory birds which can be seen from Lakewoods in very large groups. The waters are stocked with a large variety of fish like Vaam. Maral, Chalet. There are also fresh water prawns. and Turtles. The Cormorant bird can be seen diving underwater to feed on the fish.

Lakewoods Retreat is a favourite site for those who want to “go back to nature” and forget the traffic noise and the concrete jungles of city life. Visitors come for the peace and tranquillity next to the lake, where they can spend quality time, usually from morning to evening, with their friends and family. On the green lawns, outdoor games can be played and freshly cooked food is available.

Lakewoods retreat is a romantic place for couples for near pune. Lot of couples were seen at the hut side of the dam water.

Facilities available are

• Abundance of “Fresh Air”  as we are surrounded  on all three sides by refreshing  lake waters
• Quiet and peaceful environment – no traffic noise
• Outdoor games like cricket, football, volley ball, badminton can be played. Equipment is provided
• Indoor games like carom, chess, playing cards, housie and table tennis are available
• Rain dance with DJ music available for 1 hour
• Water Fountain Jet  to frolic in – safe for children
• Breakfast, lunch, snacks are available. The cuisine is Maharashtrian, Punjabi and Chinese
• Covered area can accommodate at least 500 people.
• Small huts made of grass, located near the water – suitable for meditation or relaxing
• Ideal location for bird watching on the lake
• Back up generator of 45kva to take care of power failures
• Separate toilets for gents and ladies

Picnic Schedule:

• 9.45 AM – Arrival at Lakewoods Retreat
• 10 AM – Breakfast
• 10.30 AM to 12.30 PM – Cricket / Games
• 1 PM to 2 PM – Rain Dance
• 2 PM to 3.30 PM – Lunch
• 3:30 PM to 4 PM – Snooze / Card games / watch Cormorants diving for fish
• 4 PM – Tea or Coffee
• 5 PM – Game of Badminton
• 5.30 PM – Depart for home
