Around Pune- Jejuri

Jejuri is around 60km away from Pune. It is a place of Lord Kandoba. I walked on Juna gad, Kade Pathar on 2nd Oct. 2012. I am sharing some snaps for you. It is a very good place to visit once in year.

Kade pathar is the old temple of Lord Khandoba. It requires around 1 hr to reach to the temple by walking. Vehicles will not go to the top. The journy you will experience is ultimate. From pune it is simple to reach. You have to go to hadapsar then take right turn to Saswad. Then straight forward you will reach to Jejuri.

Jejuri is one of the famous temples in Maharashtra. Popularly known as ' Khandobachi Jejuri ' - it is one of the major Gods in Maharashtra. The God of Jejuri - Mhalsakant or Malhari Martand - is popular amongst the Dhangars. Dhangar is one of the oldest tribes in Maharashtra. Khandoba is known to be their god. Jejuri is to the South - East of Pune towards Phaltan. But the temples of Khandoba is situated on a small hill , so can be seen from the approaching road.

Kanifnath near Saswad

One day picnic spot near pune, weekend gateways around pune, pune picnic,Places to visit around pune by Nishigandh Chavan, Around pune
A religious place, Kanifnath has a special place in the hearts of several devotees. It is located on a hill top, it is just a small drive 30-40 km away from the Pune city. A serene place, being on the top just makes you feel divine. The top view of Pune city and the sunset is something you should not miss when you visit the Kanifnath temple. The drive through the hilly roads of Bopdev ghat is equally interesting with the narrow roads surrounded by lush greenery. Also you can visit the temple from hadapsar to dive ghat to saswad. There is one tapari on the rout from saswad to kondhawa which offers very good "MISAL PAV" & "TEA" , you will remeber its taste forever.
