Matheran - Hill station near pune

Matheran hill spot   is really such nice place where  you can enjoy every breath with nature in the weekend time.  Matheran  is a most coolest Hill Station situated in Karjat. Matheran is the smallest hill station of India. it is at height of 2625 Feet above sea level. The name Matheran means  ‘Forest on Top’ Matheran is located around 95 km from Mumbai, 125 km from Pune very good picnic spot for one day picnic also. Matheran as a Hill Station around pune was discovered by a British in 1850.   Matheran is an eco-sensitive region, declared by the Ministry of Environment and Forest. It is one of the few places in the world where vehicles are not allowed, which makes the place different from others. Matheran takes you over a hundred years back in time when there were no vehicles. Rajgad- Around pune- One day Picnic spot

Greetings... One sunday Myself & my friend Girish Planned to go on Rajgad near pune. We have taken a rout of shirwal. During the way there is a KAILAS BHEL shop. We enjoyed bhel & TEA their a lot then after toll naka there is a right hand turn for Rajgad Fort. Rajgad, considered as the King of all forts is at about 40 km south west of Pune and is at a height of 4500 ft. Rajgad was home for Shivaji for over 25 years till he became Chhatrapati. Post coronation he shifted his capital to Raigad. Reaching Rajgad 1) To enter the fort via Alu Darwaja. From Pune, proceed to Bhor. Near Bhor, board a launch at Basrapur at the Bhatgar dam. A five-hour ride will take you toBhutonde, which is at the foothill of Rajgad. From Bhor you can also take a bus for village Bhutonde. From Bhutonde, it is a three hour climb to the Alu Darwaja. 2) To enter the fort via Gunjavane Darwaja you take the Pune-Velha bus toMargasani Village and from there you go via Sakhargaon to Gunjavane village.
