Shaniwar Wada - Pune


Shaniwar Wada is the most historic place of Pune . Shaniwar Wada was build in Pune by Peshwa in 18th century. The Shaniwar means Saturday. The name is derived from its construction start day and Opening ceremony day was an auspicious  day of " Saturday ".It was stated that total expenditure to consteruct the Shaniwar wada was Rs. 16110/-. At least 1000 peoples was used to stay in the palace in 1758 A.D.

Now a days Shaniwar Wada is open to all public. Indian can enter with ticket os Rs. 5 and for child upto the age of 15, entry is free. For foreigners entry fee is Rs. 100/- and Shaniwar wada timing for open is 8 am to 5 pm. Mostly couples and foreigners  found visiting the place. Place is crowded on Saturday and Sunday. Around Shaniwar wada there is a main market of Pune. Peoples from other cities too come here for shopping.

There is a lot of information about the Shaniwar wada. Step by step, we will see the information of the same. What I think is that Shaniwar Wada is nothing but a place to stay Constructed by Maratha Empire " Bajirao Peshwa" in 1732.

Pushkarni, Delhi Darwaja,Nagar khana, Water fountain, Central chouk, Gauri Mahal, Garden, Ganesh Mahal, Water storage tank, Seven flour building and Buglow ( now not avilable ), Horse and Elephant Place, Tulshi Vrundawan, Water sprinkles, Toilets and bathrooms, Eight edged Well, Dance floor, Garden, Trees, Khidki Darwaja, Narayan Darwaja, Ganesh Darwaja, Mastani Darwaja and much more

Just imagine, Shaniwar Wada is a live, You will enter in 1732 A.D. history. I like this place the most. This is the major and main attraction of Pune. Without Shaniwar wada Pune Darshan, Pune tourism is incomplete.

Jadhav Wadi Dam - Talegaon

Greetings... Jadhav wadi dam is situated after crossing the Navlakh Umbre hill station? Actually there is nothing to see there near dam, but it is useful for those who need " Ekant", cool, calm place  & enjoy with group of  friends means party. The road up to the dam from main road is rough. As I was on 2 wheeler , I managed to go upto the destination, for car its difficult. But anyway it is a short cut to Talegaon from Bhama askhed.
